Hello fellow explorers! If you’ve found this website then that means not only are you as tuned in as I am to the worlds beyond ours and to the realms of the super & preternatural, but that you too have felt the mystic energies that seems to converge in and around Southampton, UK.
Make no mistake – there’s a reason the Titanic’s maiden voyage was doomed!! It set off from a city that is a hotbed for dark spirits and inexplicable sightings and goings on!
Don’t let the quaint tourist trails fool you – Southampton’s is awash with haunted places; its history is steeped in tales of misery and loss, and tormented spirits old and eternally young stalk these streets paved with grief.
But, of course no-one talks about it because we’ve turned a tragedy where over 1,500 people lost their lives at sea into a Hollywood romance and a museum attraction for vistors! Horrible hauntings have become the subject of tacky ghost walks, where visitors are lured into the presence of vengeful spirits, encounters that can leave them scarred for life!!!
Of course, we don’t want to scare away the students and the tourists do we?? And so, important truths are buried, tragedies are homogenised and ignored and we all pretend that Southampton is just another South Coast city full of old English charm and whimsical maritime tales. Well, I’m not happy to pretend anymore, and as you’re reading this website, I know that you aren’t either!! “Strange Southampton” is here to ensure that the so-called ‘local myths’ of the Merchants Hall, The Stranger, the Bargate, Alien visitors or The Callous Heart cannot stay hidden from view anymore.
Please explore the site to learn all about what’s going on down here and get in touch if you’ve had encounters of your own – you shouldn’t suffer in silence, “strange Southampton” will listen and wants to believe!
